ST. GEORGE — The St. George Chamber of Commerce will feature sports enthusiast Michelle Delloso as its speaker at Wednesday’s “Professional Women’s Luncheon” at the Holiday Inn on Crosby Way in St. George.
The luncheon is open to the public and costs $15 for St. George Area Chamber of Commerce members and $20 for nonmembers. (See. Ed. note)
Michelle Delloso
Delloso has created many programs that impact girls and women throughout her career in the sports marketing industry. Her programs include Dare 2 Dream, Do You Have the Power to Dream?, Adidas Futures, and most recently, the Go Girl Futures Program. She is the founder of the Rim to Rim Club of the Grand Canyon and has worked for brands such as Nike, Adidas and Louisville Slugger.
She competed in six different sports throughout her high school and travel ball years: cross country, volleyball, soccer, tennis, basketball and softball. Delloso has earned numerous awards in tennis and softball and was named best all-around female athlete her senior year.
Softball is the sport that she said captured her heart in 1987, and she ultimately earned a softball scholarship to the University of South Carolina.
During her four years there, she became a three-time NCAA All-American in softball, NCAA Women’s College World Series player, NSCA All-American, ASA All-American, Olympic Festival Gold Medalist and ASA National Champion, as well as a four-time All-Region selection and Honda-Broderick Cup Nominee. She was named team captain three of her four collegiate years.
Delloso is a proponent of athletes competing in more than one sport when they are younger and all athletes cross training to become the best athletes they can be, according to a news release issued by the Chamber of Commerce.
