ST. GEORGE – Three Region 9 teams had final tuneups before region play begins on Thursday. Snow Canyon hosted 2A powerhouse Enterprise while Cedar and Dixie played on the road. Below are game summaries of Tuesday night’s action:

Spanish Fork 3, Dixie 1

The Lady Flyers traveled the furthest  Thursday night — three hours north to Spanish Fork. The Lady Dons won in four sets, 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21.

“Spanish Fork is a very competitive team with good hitters and great defense,” Dixie head coach Stacy Leavitt said. “We had some players step up and play extremely well. Our goal for the next game is to have all of our players step up in unison.”

Tyler Stilson led the Flyers with 19 kills. Lauren Beatty and Emme Leavitt had eight and six kills, respectively. Brooklyn Wright had 35 assists. The Flyers fall to 5-2 and begin region play this Thursday at Hurricane.

Juab 3, Cedar 2

The Lady Reds fell a couple of points short of escaping Nephi with a win against Juab. Cedar won the first and fourth sets, but the Lady Wasps pulled out the win 24-26, 25-20, 25-23, 11-25, 15-13.

Cedar falls to 6-4 and will begin region play on the road at Desert Hills on Thursday.

Enterprise 3, Snow Canyon 1

The Lady Warriors lost in four sets to Enterprise 25-16, 14-25, 25-19, 25-22.

“We lost a tough match to a very scrappy Enterprise team,” Snow Canyon head coach Ryan Rarick said. “They did a great job playing to their strengths and capitalizing when we were not playing to ours.

“Statistically, we did some good things. We had 13 aces and passed in serve receive well. Unfortunately, we beat ourselves with mistakes often. We committed 35 errors throughout the match and many of them came at crucial moments that stopped momentum. It was a good game to identify areas of needed improvement.”

Sammi Johnston led the Warriors with 15 kills and 22 digs. Addie Tauanuu had 30 assists. Jael Wilde and Johnston had five and four service aces, respectively. Also recording double-digit digs were Tauanuu (16), Lizzy Rowland (11) and Wilde (11).

Snow Canyon (1-1) will host Pine View Thursday night to begin region play.
