Why don’t you go to one of these events and tell these kids *TANSTAAFL* “There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch”.

A big congratulations must go out to Kathy Bistolfo, Nutritionist for the Washington County School District who heads up this program.
Not only has an average of 400-500 meals have been prepared for our kids at each location, she has taken this a step further to encourage a positive community relationship by including the Police and Fire Departments of these cities.
These first responders have cheerfully been involved by bringing out fire engines, patrol and K9 units for the kids to see and experience.
Also, congratulations must go out to the school Lunch Ladies who tirelessly give their time preparing these meals.
This is a great program, bringing much needed meals to the students of Washington County as well as fostering positive relationships with our brave first responders.
    Thank You!

I had a chance last week to help serve meals at the Legacy Elementary school. Not only was it a pleasure to work with these “Lunch Ladies” and witness their tireless efforts but it was a bit emotional to see the appreciation these kids and their parents had for this program.
I’m sad to say that too many of these children who recieve these lunches are the only chances they get for a full meal they’ll have on a daily basis.
It just tore me up to see the effects of being “close to the poverty level” has on these kids.

Volunteering definitely has its rewards, but, it’s also refreshing to see programs like this.
Thank you Washington County School District.
Furthermore, those Lunch Ladies are real angels.

Just an fyi, guns, the program is actually paid for with a federal grant. I believe it’s a USDA thing same as food stamps. Washington County School District just administers it.

glad u had fun helping 😉

I did get laugh from your comment. I thought it was “them darn librul parents using their children to take advantage of the system”.
I’m sure these kids don’t know or care about their parents political affiliation when their tummies are full, though.

There ain’t no free lunch, it’s being paid for either by your property taxes ( which continue to go up 10 – 20% each year for the school district ) or your federal taxes, which I still have to pay ( 46% of Americans don’t ) so no there is no free lunch

      The USDA funds this program.
So, would you rather have your taxes go to your free-loading welfare frauding social network of low-lifes or to the children?
