ST. GEORGE — An accident on Dixie Drive Thursday just after 2 p.m. left one car totaled and the other undrivable.

“Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Dixie Drive,” St. George Police officer Lona Trombley said, “when the red Prius was in the lane to turn left (on Black Ridge Drive), and the Toyota Scion…drifted into that lane and hit the Prius, which knocked the Prius into a third vehicle, which was a Toyota Tacoma that actually left the scene.”
Trombley said the driver of the Prius complained of rib, arm and leg pain but refused transport to the hospital. The Scion driver was uninjured.
“The driver of the Scion was charged for improper lane travel,” Trombley said, adding that both cars were towed from the scene.
Traffic was impacted for almost an hour with two of the four lanes closed to travel.
The St. George Police Department, St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the accident.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
