ST. GEORGE — The whole family is invited to a traditional Christmas Eve Service centered around the Christmas Story from the Bible at the Dixie Center St. George Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. This event, which has been put on for 13 years, is hosted by the St. George Calvary Chapel and is free and open to the public.
“We are a nondenominational Christian church in our community and this is our gift to our community each year,” Calvary Chapel pastor Rick Nerud said.
The night starts with reading the Christmas story from the Bible, followed by singing carols, hymns and songs that reinforce that portion of the story, Nerud said.
The audience is encouraged to be the “Christmas Choir” at the event. All the words for the songs are projected on a 30-foot screen, Nerud said. The night will end with the “Grand Finale” with everyone standing and singing “Joy to the World!”
There will also be a children’s choir joining to connect with all the children in the audience.
“At a time in our nation and world with so much evil going on, we want to invite everyone to come and celebrate all the goodness of God and the marvelous gift in Jesus Christ,” Nerud said. “So come and join your family and friends in Southern Utah in celebrating Christmas Eve together.”
