MESQUITE, Nev. – Officers located and arrested an alleged fugitive sex offender last week in Mesquite, Nevada.
Lloyd Robert Pitzen, 66, of Wisconsin, was arrested on the felony fugitive from justice warrant, according to a media statement issued by the Mesquite Police Department Tuesday morning.
Last Wednesday, the Mesquite Police Department were notified by the Nevada Parole and Probation and the United States Marshals Service that a fugitive sex offender was in the Mesquite area.
Pitzen had an active felony warrant for his arrest out of Wisconsin for a sex offender registration violation, according to the statement.
Detectives were able to locate and identify Pitzen’s vehicle location at the Virgin River Hotel located at 100 N. Pioneer Boulevard in Mesquite. Detectives began surveillance of the room and vehicle.
After a short time, Pitzen exited his hotel room and was safely taken into custody, Mesquite Police said in the statement.
Pitzen was transported to the Clark County Detention Center to await extradition back to Wisconsin.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
