Entertainment for the event being provided by song artist Deon Mendenhall singing Christmas songs and soft rock.
This event began five years ago when Southern Utah car clubs had no way to distribute the toys being collected, said Shane Dastrup, president of the Southern Utah Mustang Owners Association & Classic Ford Club.
The clubs then got together and started Car Guys Care and created the car show in support of the Toys for Tots Foundation. It also provided a way to distribute the toys through Toys for Tots Present Deliveries .
“Every year this event has grown in popularity and in the number of donated items and cash,” Dastrup said.
“Last year we presented Toys For Tots Coordinator retired Marine Gy. Sgt. Rick Massey $2,396 in cash,” Dastrup said, “along with 17 bicycles and 14 large boxes of donated toys which were loaded into a truck.”
