Lue Ann F. Barnard, 78, passed away Nov. 29, 2015. She was born Sept. 25, 1937, to Jenne Revere and Sara Inez Matthews Fowles. She married Robert C. Barnard in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Feb. 20, 1959.

Lue Ann was born and raised in Oakley, Idaho. She attended Brigham Young University, where she met and married Bob. They spent 38 years in Seattle, Washington, where they raised seven children before relocating to St. George, Utah, in 2000. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Lue Ann personified grace, elegance and strength throughout her life with an undying faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ. She spent her life in tireless service to others.

She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Barnard; children, Robert Cary Barnard of Seattle, Washington, Jenne Michelle (Rick) Ashby of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dena Paree (Rylen) Akana of Bellevue, Washington, Stacie Ann (Kurt) Zevenbergen-Francis of Portland, Oregon, Stephanie (Sam) Swanberg of Pasco, Washington, Christina Diane (Steven) Bond of Springville, Utah, and William Craig (Rachel) Barnard of Tayorsville, Utah; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Funeral services

  • Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m., at the East Ridge LDS Ward Chapel, 912 S. 1740 East, St. George, Utah.
  • Visitations will be held Thursday evening, from 6-8 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah
  • Additional visitations will be Friday, prior to services, from 10-10:30 a.m., at the Chapel.
  • Interment will be held in Tonaquint Cemetery.
