Heritage Choir sings Veterans Day concert for unsung heroes

ST. GEORGE — The Southern Utah Heritage Choir will present its annual Veterans Day concert, “Song for the Unsung Hero” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the St. George Tabernacle. All are welcome and admission is free.

Under the direction of Ken Peterson, conductor, with Nancy Allred, pianist, and Karen Lee Cantera, organist, this wonderful celebration will feature music and narration to give tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country so valiantly in the cause of freedom.

The choir is excited to perform many patriotic selections, its press release said, including “America the Beautiful,” “Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor,” and “Song for the Unsung Hero.”  The wonderful tribute, “Salute to the Armed Forces” will pay homage to all veterans who have valiantly served our country.

The concert will conclude with the magnificent arrangement of “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by Peter J. Wilhousky.

The choir is also preparing for its annual Christmas concerts, which will be performed in the St. George Tabernacle Dec. 10, 11, and 13 at 7 p.m., with a special matinée performance Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.
