1 rushed to hospital after stabbing incident in Dixie Downs

ST. GEORGE – Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the Dixie Downs area of St. George Tuesday night following an altercation between two people.

Dispatch received a call at 9:45 p.m. reporting an assault in progress during which a man was stabbed, St. George Police Lt. Joseph Hartman said.

When officers first arrived at the scene, initial reports were that the alleged victim had sustained two stab wounds – one to the groin and one to the stomach area.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and, while treating the victim, only located one wound, Hartman said.

The man who was stabbed gave a brief statement before being transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, where he was rushed into surgery.

The second party who was allegedly involved in the altercation is being questioned as this report is published. It is difficult to determine who the victim is in the incident until an investigation is conducted, Hartman said.

Officers are also looking for a female who was a possible witness.

The St. George Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.

No charges have been filed as this report is published and the incident is still under investigation.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

“It is difficult to determine who the victim is in the incident until an investigation is conducted”,uhmmmm wouldn’t the victim

The stabber is a minority, thus he could actually be the victim, lashing out in this manner because society has done him an injustice in some way.
