Around 1:20 p.m., a white car and a gray car were in the outside northbound lane of Red Cliffs Drive, just past the intersection near Red Lobster, when a white SUV crashed into the white car, pushing it into the gray car ahead of it.

Traffic had either been stopped or slowing when the accident occurred, St. George Police Sgt. Rich Triplett said.

St. George Police shut down the outside lane as St. George Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance also arrived on scene.

The gray car received light damage compared to the other two vehicles, Triplett said, and it was able to be driven from the scene.

The SUV sustained front-end damage, while the white car sandwiched in the middle of the crash had front and rear damage. Both vehicles had to be towed away.

No injuries resulted from the crash.

Triplett said the driver of the SUV would be cited for following too closely.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
