John Richard Shankey, born May 2, 1932, passed away October 11, 2015. He was a loving husband to Diane for 43 years and loving father to three sons: John Stewart, Peter and David.
John served in the Coast Guard during the Korean War. He enjoyed a long career in insurance in the Boston area before retiring to St. George in 2005. He loved God, spending time with family and friends, music, food, traveling, the ocean and playing the clarinet.
Funeral Services
- Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at the New Promise Lutheran Church, 244 S. Valley View Drive, St. George.
- Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery.
