ST. GEORGE — The popular “Color Me Rad” event will again make a splash in St. George Saturday at the Ridge Top Complex, 317 S. Donlee Drive, in St. George.

Now in its fourth year, “Color Me Rad” promises to be “bigger, badder and radder than ever before,” said Race Director Kristine Peterson.

The number of color stations will double this year, and free photos will be offered to event participants.

“We love our friends from Color Me Rad for all they do for Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah,” said Lil Barron, director of development and community relations. “Color Me Rad has supported us for the last three years, with the proceeds helping us build homes for three deserving families in Washington County.”

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah has now built or renovated 21 homes in Washington County, providing a hand up, not a handout, for 102 family members in need of affordable housing.

Since 2010, Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah has also repaired and renovated 45 homes through the affiliate’s A Brush with Kindness program.

“What makes this run so amazing is the support we receive from the runners and the community, including all the volunteers,” said Linda Baker, executive director for Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah. “Where else can you have such a great time while helping to make a difference right here in our own hometown?”

To help build or renovate a home without swinging a hammer, go to the Color Me Rad website and use promo code “Habitat” to receive a 5 percent discount on your registration. A portion of each registration fee will help build safe, affordable, decent houses for deserving families.

Participants can register online for $45 plus a $5.54 service fee. Registration the day of the race will be available on-site for $50 plus a $6.08 service fee. Kids can race for $15 plus a $4.19 service fee.
