Hunter, Kimber1August 17, 1993 – September 30, 2015

Kimber Ruth Hunter passed away September 30, 2015, in Cedar City, Utah. She was born August 17, 1993, in Ogden, Utah.

As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the life she lived and the memories we will always cherish.  Kimber was extremely musically inclined and could play the piano, saxophone, violin, guitar, and sing beautifully. Her music and art touched many and brought joy to herself and others.

Kimber had an unmatched ability to connect with other people.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, a love for people and for the beauty in the world.  She found beauty in all the little things and had a love for yoga and her little dog Cali.

Kimber was enrolled in the nursing program at SUU and worked as a CNA at the Kolob Care Center in Cedar City.  Kimber’s life goal was to serve others as a traveling nurse throughout the world, and she lived this goal every day of her life.

She served others as a member of the Syracuse High School Interact Club and enjoyed working with special needs students at the Syracuse High LDS Seminary.  Kimber was the Sterling Scholar in music at Syracuse High School where she graduated with honors in 2012.  She was a member of the Utah Governor’s Honors Academy, served as a Presidential Ambassador at SUU, and was a member of the SUU Jazz Ensemble.

Kimber is survived by: her parents Brad and Kathy Hunter; brother Ryan Hunter; sister Kristen (Trevor) Laursen; brother Brennan Hunter; grandparents Richard and Irene Tebbs; niece Avery Mae Laursen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched beyond description.

Kimber will live on in the memory of those who knew and loved her.  She has taught us how to live life more fully.  She is a gift of love to our family and was the source of many smiles and giggles.  She is our sunshine.  We love our Kimber Ruth and feel she is in the arms of her grandmother Hunter whom she had a special relationship with.  Kimber we love you and know that we will be with you again.
