Volunteers needed for Interagency Center in St. George

ST. GEORGE — The Interagency Center in St. George needs a few good volunteers willing to work in visitor services, retail sales, inventory control, information technologies, educational events, graphic design and volunteer coordination. Volunteers assist the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service and the Dixie Arizona Strip Interpretive Association at the Interagency Center at 345 E. Riverside Drive, St. George.

Volunteers are needed weekdays between 7:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturdays and some evenings. The work is varied and satisfying because volunteers assist the public with information and events for public lands and resources in northern Arizona, southwestern Utah and southeastern Nevada. Training for these positions is provided.

Volunteers provide information to local, regional national and international visitors. Amenities include field trips and monthly presentations by local specialists such as biologists, paleontologists and archaeologists. Volunteering at the center is a great place to learn even more about natural resources, public lands and area recreation opportunities in and around St. George.

For information about volunteer positions, contact the Visitor Center manager, Terrie Lemon, at telephone 435-688-3236 or by email.
