Take 10: Expert runners weigh in on marathon prep, nutrition, snot rockets

ST. GEORGE — It is almost the first Saturday of October and in St. George that can mean only one thing: it is time for another running of the St. George Marathon. The storied marathon is entering its 39th year of bringing runners to one of the prettiest foot races in the United States.

On Oct. 3, over 7,000 runners will toe the line in Central in hopes of completing this “bucket list” feat. For this special marathon edition of “Take 10” we have assembled a panel of passionate runners to share their advice and to give a little insight into the crazy world of 26.2’s and beyond.

Together our guests, Colleen Rue, Scott Hughes and Rachel Cieslewicz have racked up close to a hundred marathons and other races, including ultra marathons, technical trail races and multi-day stage races.

If you are a first-timer, an expert runner or even just a casual spectator, take a peek at our special marathon episode to find out what makes these runners tick, what their race day essentials are and why you might want to look around before breaking wind on a run.
