Boil advisory lifted for Hildale residents; flood cleanup volunteers sought

HILDALE – The recent water boiling advisory has been lifted for the Hildale/Colorado City water system.

Water sample testing has been completed, according to a statement issued Saturday by Washington County Emergency Services, and Hildale and Colorado City, Arizona, residents no longer need to boil water from the local system prior to use, .

The boil advisory was implemented Tuesday due to damage to the area’s water system from the recent devastating flooding in Hildale.

Thursday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service pledged more than $100,000 in Emergency Watershed Protection funds to assist in the flood response efforts.

Volunteers are being sought to assist in flood cleanup, according to information posted Saturday on the Hildale and Colorado City Search and Rescue Facebook page. Volunteers with heavy equipment such as skid-steers, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks and tractors are needed as well as manpower. Volunteers should check in at Fire Station 1 in Colorado City, and equipment can be checked in at the old city lot, according to a Saturday post.
