ST. GEORGE — A mother and her baby were transported to the hospital Friday afternoon after the driver of a pickup truck failed to see them and turned in front of their vehicle.

A white pickup traveling south on Tuweap Drive in St. George was slowing down to turn onto 1420 North, St. George Police Officer Tyrell Bangerter said. The driver failed to notice a black Lexus traveling north on Tuweap Drive and turned in front of it.

“The Lexus struck the pickup on the back passenger, rear axle area,” Bangerter said.

The driver of the Lexus was transported by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, along with her baby, Bangerter said. The woman was complaining of neck pain, and the baby appeared to be uninjured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

There was another child in the Lexus who was uninjured. Both children were in appropriate car seats, but the mother was apparently not wearing her seat belt, Bangerter said

The driver of the pickup was not injured.

Bangerter said the pickup driver was cited for failure to yield on a left turn.

Both vehicles had major damage and had to be towed.

Units from the St. George Police Department, St. George Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance responded

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

How about SGNews go one week without reporting on a traffic accident and see how little news there is. It’s getting old. Sunglare, DUI, Failure to yield. distracted driver, rollover rollover rollover, medical episode. Enough.

422 would be happy if they quit reporting on crashes and replaced it with announcements of LDS mormon activites like combination breastfeeding class and relief society potluck.

You wouldn’t take breastfeeding over a traffic accident? I think fun bag is lacking testosterone.
