Snow Canyon Little Leaguers end season with loss to Hawaii

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The boys from Hawaii flexed their muscles Friday night, running away with a 15-0 win over Utah’s Little League crew from Snow Canyon and ending the season for the southern Utahns.

LittleLeagueIntlLogo-main_FullHawaii pounded out 16 hits, including three by Hunter Sasaki, to cruise to the win. Sasaki homered and had six RBIs in the game. Utah managed just two hits, though Tanner Truman did rip a triple in the third inning.

The Utah team went 1-2 at the West Regional, with all three games ending in mercy-rule fashion. Snow Canyon beat Arizona 11-1 before falling to Southern California 11-1.

Monday’s win over Arizona was a first for a Snow Canyon team at the Little League regionals.

In Friday’s win, Hawaii scored four runs in the first inning, five in the second and six in the third.
