ST. GEORGE — The driver of a Jeep Cherokee involved in a head-on collision Wednesday on Interstate 15 near Fillmore has died.
Jessie N. Wilkerson, 18, of St. George died Thursday at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Mary Kay Lucas said. Wilkerson had been critically injured after driving her Jeep Cherokee the wrong way on I-15 and colliding with a southbound Honda Wednesday morning.
Two people in the Honda that Wilkerson’s Jeep hit head-on were killed in the crash: The driver, Larry J. Martin, 25, of West Jordan, and his backseat passenger Kaela Hernandez, 27, of American Fork.
Martin’s frontseat passenger, Joseph Martin, 29, of Eagle Mountain, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Fillmore Community Medical Center for care. Friday morning, Martin remains in critical condition, Lucas said.
Possible impairment is still being investigated as a factor in the collision.
