WASHINGTON CITY – Lunch-hour traffic through one of the county’s nightmare intersections was temporarily impacted Tuesday when a two-vehicle collision occurred at N. 3050 East/Green Springs Drive and Red Cliffs Drive/Telegraph Street (the streets change names at the intersection).
Around 12:30 p.m., a pickup truck on Red Cliffs Drive entered the intersection and was about to turn left onto Green Springs Drive, when a southbound passenger car on Green Springs Drive collided with it, Washington City Police spokesman Ed Kantor said.
The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured, Kantor said, and each was the sole occupant in their respective vehicles.
In the wake of the accident, traffic on parts of N. 3050 East/Green Springs Drive and Red Cliffs Drive/Telegraph Street began to back up, making a lunchtime commute for some a little longer than originally planned.
The passenger car had to be towed from the scene, Kantor said, while the truck left under its own power.
No citations were issued at the time and the investigation is ongoing. Police are also seeking independent witnesses who saw what happened.
