LAKE MEAD, Nev. — A man was killed Saturday when he was ejected from the vehicle he was riding in.
At approximately 7:10 p.m. PDT, Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a Nissan pickup truck that had rolled in Lake Mead National Park, according to a statement issued by Nevada Department of Public Safety.
The Nissan pickup was eastbound on Six Mile Cove Road, a graded dirt road, inside the national park. The driver of the truck lost control and steered right, which caused the truck to rotate clockwise, the press release said. The Nissan rolled across the roadway into the dirt shoulder.
The 29-year-old passenger, identified as Ever Douglas MejivarValle of Las Vegas, was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the truck, the statement said. At 10 p.m. PDT MejivarValle was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner T. Brown.
This fatal accident marks Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command’s 37th fatal accident for the year, the statement said.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
