ST. GEORGE – A man crashed his SUV into a large rock by the Summit Athletic Club Wednesday after leaving the road due to dozing off.
Around 5:30 p.m., the man was westbound on 1450 South when he began to fall asleep, St. George Sgt. David Williams said.
“The driver said he’d been out at Sand Hollow all day and was really, really tired and just dozed
off,” Williams said.
The man quickly woke up as his SUV was exiting the roadway, but was unable to stop it from going over the curb and colliding with the rock.
No other cars or people were involved in the incident and the driver was the sole occupant of the SUV, Williams said. The driver was unharmed, yet cited by police for improper lane travel.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
