ST. GEORGE — Healthy Dixie invites residents and visitors to “Walk Washington County” in Virgin, Saturday at 9 a.m.
“Walk Washington County is a great way for you to get your exercise, enjoy beautiful Southern Utah, meet local mayors and learn area history,” Heidi Lemke, a representative from Healthy Dixie, said. “We are excited to hear Mayor Bruce Densley share interesting information about Virgin, as well as the city’s history, with us this Saturday while he leads the walk.”
Attendees should dress for walking, bring any gear needed and water to the starting point at 114 S. Mill Street in Virgin.
“We’ll gather at the Town Office there,” Lemke said. “There is no charge to join in the fun, and we encourage everyone to come out for a great time.”
The Virgin walk is the first of two summer “Walk Washington County” events. The next walk will be led by Mayor Lee Bracken in Enterprise, August 29 at 9 a.m. to kick off the “Corn Festival.”
“Walk Washington County” began in 2013 as part of Dixie Regional Medical Center’s 100th Anniversary. Healthy Dixie is pleased to continue this healthy event, it said in its press release.
