LITTLEFIELD, Ariz. – A woman was arrested in Littlefield, Arizona, Friday after officers found her in possession of some large stolen items, one of which was reported missing out of St. George.
Theresa Carmillia Hardy, 33, of Littlefield, was arrested Friday on two felony counts of possession of stolen property, as well as a failure to appear misdemeanor warrant out of the North Canyon Justice Court.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies contacted Hardy outside of a residence on Littlefield Lane regarding her active warrant, a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office press release said. The deputies saw Hardy standing in the front yard of the residence near a turquoise golf cart, which they recognized as a cart reported stolen in May.
“Hardy advised that she located the golf cart stuck in the sand,” the press release said. “Hardy further advised that she was able to get the golf cart free from being stuck and she brought it to her house expecting the owner to come along and claim it.”
Deputies also found a 16-foot box trailer in the front yard of the home that had been reported stolen out of St. George in January.
The deputies told Hardy she was under arrest. Following her into the house, they saw a .22-caliber rifle inside the home. A computer check showed Hardy had a previous felony conviction.
Hardy was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
