St. George residents warned of parking ticket scam

ST. GEORGE – The St. George Police Department issued a statement Thursday warning residents about a parking ticket scam occurring in the St. George area.

The pictured citation is an example of a fraudulent ticket, the statement said. Anyone seeing such a citation is warned not to pay it.

“This is a scam,” the statement said. “St. George City parking cites do not look like this and the number and website provided are not affiliated with the St George Police Department.”

Legitimate citations are paid through the SGPD’s records department, located at 265 N. 200 East in St. George, the statement said.

Anyone finding one of these fraudulent citations on their vehicle is asked to call the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4301.
