From Hammond’s website:

We each go through storms and they share how God delivered Kathy (Hammond’s wife) from depression through a song that Wade wrote, relying on the Lord for daily strength as Kathy lives with Multiple Sclerosis.

Now traveling a new journey called grief. July 30, 2007 while at work, Little Wade fell 28 feet through a skylight. But six weeks before he fell, Christ became real to him and he accepted Christ as his Savior.

The last song to his No. 1 credit is “I’ll Stand Up for the Cross,” recorded by Hammond and written by Avery Michaels, ranking on the March 2013 chart. In 2014 Hammond hit the Mainstream Country Charts at No. 12 with “She Loves Me Lord” written by Eddie Burton and Tommy Dennis.
