SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary R. Herbert has ordered the lowering of the flags of the United States of America and the State of Utah to half-staff on Friday in recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
“Today we pay tribute to the brave men and women who have been injured or given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty,” Herbert said. “We are ever grateful to them and to their families for their service and sacrifice to protect and defend our people.”
The flags will be flown at half-staff on all state facilities from sunrise to sunset on Friday.
