SANTA CLARA — One person sustained mild injuries in an SUV rollover on Pioneer Parkway in Santa Clara, northwest of Lava Cove Drive, just before noon Friday.
Santa Clara-Ivins Police Public Information Officer Chad Holt said the driver of the vehicle was traveling along Pioneer Parkway, looking for a specific street, when she drove off the road. She overcorrected while trying to get the vehicle back on the road, and the SUV rolled.
Santa Clara Fire Chief Dan Nelson said the driver, a woman, was the only occupant of the vehicle. She was not trapped and was out of the vehicle by the time emergency responders arrived.
The vehicle was a total loss, Holt said.
The woman was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center by Ivins Ambulance Service with injuries Holt described as “cuts and scrapes.”
Traffic was interrupted for about 45 minutes while the wreckage was cleared.
No citations were issued in connection with the incident.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
