River friendly landscapes workshop

ST. GEORGE — A workshop discussing river friendly landscapes will be presented at the Tonaquint Nature Center Saturday at 10 a.m. by Candace Schaible, Utah State University extension horticulturist.

The workshop, “Slow, Spread and Sink: River Friendly Landscapes” will explain how to connect your front yard and watershed.

Schaible will discuss designing sustainable, aesthetically appealing landscapes by slow, spread and sink rainwater; creating “sponge gardens.” She will also talk about rainwater harvesting.
