Margie Emett Bowler, age 80, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, in St. George, Utah. She was born January 24, 1935, in Enterprise, Utah, to LaRue and Grace Hafen Emett. She married Fenton Lewis Bowler in 1953 in Veyo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.
Margie was born in Enterprise and in 1942, her family moved to the Gardner Ranch just aouth of Central. They then moved to Veyo in 1947. Margie was proud to be crowned the Dixie Roundup Queen of 1951. She worked at Dick’s Café for many years. Margie was charitable and was a main stay in the Veyo civic activities, especially the Veyo Rodeo. She was an active member of LDS Church serving as Primary President and teacher for many years.
Margie was very loving and compassionate. Her life was devoted to caring for her mother, Fenton and the boys. She was strong-willed but gentle and will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving family include her husband, Fenton Lewis Bowler of Veyo, Utah; two sons, Carl Fenton (Lisa) Bowler and Stuart John (Kristy) Bowler both of Veyo, Utah; three grandchildren, Trent, Tyler and Katelin and five great-grandchildren, Stetson, LynnDee, Camden, Austin “A.J.”, and Dilyn; and brother, Bert Emett of Veyo.
- Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, at 11 a.m. at the Veyo LDS Chapel, 176 E. Center Street, Veyo, Utah.
- There will be a viewing Thursday, March 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff, St. George, and also Friday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Chapel.
- Interment will take place in the Veyo Cemetery.
