Grange, Lila Obit(December 5, 1928 – March 15, 2015)

Lila Rose Grange, 86, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015.  She was born December 5, 1928, in Tooele to Mary Ann Clark and Charles Benjamin Darling.  She married William M.“Bill” Grange on November 18, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As the fifth child of nine children Lila spent her childhood taking care of her younger siblings and doing household chores. During her teen years she worked at any job that was available. She grew up in the Salt Lake City area. After marrying Bill and having four children, they moved to southern California where she continued her career as a professional cashier with Hughes Market and United Food Workers Union.

Lila loved traveling and exploring new places and was able to see 47 out of the 50 United Sates.  She was an avid reader and loved crafts, both of which she spent many hours enjoying.  She loved animals and always had a dog or a cat in her life.

She is survived by her eldest son, William Leon Grange, (Carla Grange), of El Dorado, Arkansas, youngest daughter, Barbara Ann (Grange) Harvey,(Mark S. Harvey) of Ivins, Utah, 22 grandchildren, Cathy Schaublin-Ivie, (Scott Ivie), Tracy Schaublin, Stefanie Schaublin, Jennifer (Grange) Arredondo, Paul Dostman, (Laurie Largess), Christel (Grange) Hicks, (Kyle Hicks), Beckee (Grange) Gibby, (Mark Gibby), Jason Grange, (Chelsea Grange), Regan Spring (Grange) Lambert, Alisha (Grange) Brown, (Matt Brown), Jay Grange, (Cori Mitchell), Christopher Grange, Erin Grange, John R. Grange, Amelia Rogers scattered throughout the United States, along with 31 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William M. Grange, her oldest daughter Linda Irene (Grange) Schaublin, her second son Donald “Bob” R. Grange and his wife (Marilyn (Studdard) Grange), two grandchildren, Sandra Lynn Grange and Thomas Rogers and three great grandchildren, Quinton William Grange, Ryker Lambert, and Jordan Lambert.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Friday, March 20, at 1 p.m. at the Spilsbury Chapel, 110 S. Bluff St, St George.
  • There will be no viewing per Lila’s request.

Flowers are welcomed as she loved them.

We would like to take this moment to thank the wonderful nursing staff (RNs & CNAs) on the 3rd floor West of Intermountain hospital for the loving care and attention they showed Lila.  Also Thanks go out to the hospitalists, especially Dr. Hoth, Dr. Rose and Dr. Wu for their knowledge and guidance and attendance to our mom’s final days.
