ST. GEORGE – St. George Police officers responded Friday morning to an alarm at Drive Train Unlimited in St. George, and upon arrival found that someone had broken into the building.
Entry was made by breaking glass on the front door, and $500 was discovered missing from an unlocked drawer inside the business.
James Stewart, owner of the automotive machine shop located at 3714 S. 1700 East, said he was called by the St. George Police Department at about 7:45 a.m. He arrived at his shop to find the glass shattered in the front door and the money missing.
Officer Lona Trombley of the St. George Police Department said the alarm went off and officers were dispatched at 7:41 a.m. Investigators remained on scene throughout the morning.
Stewart was philosophical about the incident. “Hey, it’s Friday the 13th,” said Stewart. “Not quite my day, apparently.”
