A-List: Last-minute Valentine’s Day date ideas

OPINION – Love day is almost here.

And yet, here you are.

Lucky for you, it’s not too late to plan the best day ever. Here’s a few realistic date ideas that I love (and I think you will, too).

1. Enjoy a heart themed breakfast.

There’s no better way to start off the most romantic day of the year than with the most important meal of the day. Heart shaped bacon + heart shaped pancakes = true love.

FYI: If cooking breakfast isn’t in your skill set – Chik-Fil-A’s breakfast menu is offering heart shaped biscuits buy one get one FREE now thru Valentine’s Day.

2. Get pedicures together.

Guys – please trust me on this. No, you won’t walk out of the nail salon with red and pink toenails. However, they will look a heck of a lot better than they do right now. (Plus you get a foot massage!)

3. Taste test sugar cookies at all of your favorite bakeries.

I like to think St. George invented the pink sugar cookie. And although you can get them year round, heart shaped ones taste way better. Promise.

4. Keep your heart healthy – do something active!

It’s only natural for your heart to beat a little faster on love day, right? Whether you take a fitness class together, go on a hike, or hit a bucket of balls – your heart will love the extra TLC.

5. Or do nothing.

Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year (which won’t happen again until 2026), so why not stay in your pajamas, turn both of your phones off and turn on Netflix?

6. Get (or give) a massage.

Yes, please. If you can’t get an appointment, get a gift certificate and save the date.

7. Get fancy for date night in.

Most restaurants are already booked. So why not make your own gourmet meal together at home? Two words: lobster dinner!

8. Order a heart shaped pizza.

My sister introduced me to Papa Murphy’s heart shaped pizza a few years ago, and Valentine’s Day has never been the same since.

9. Fondue for two.

It isn’t Valentine’s Day without chocolate covered strawberries. Run, don’t walk, to the closest grocery store. You can buy them already ready to eat, or buy the two ingredients to make your own.

10. Take a sunset stroll.

There’s nothing better than watching the sky change colors with the person you love. It’s as simple as that.

XOXO
