The two seniors, back to defend their state championships in their respective weights, dominated matches at the South Regionals at the Sevier Valley Center this weekend, helping the Thunder place second behind champ Payson. Cody Stevenson shut out McCoy Parry of Payson 10-0 in the 195-pound class, while Tyler Stevenson pinned Payson’s Blake Butler early in the match to earn the regional title Saturday.

Desert Hills dominated the heavier weight classes, with Ethan Del Toro winning at 182 with a 2-1 decision over Juab’s Brandon Aagard and Trevor Ottenschott edging Payson’s Brian Hauschauer 3-2. The big guys helped DHHS to 232.5 points, far back from regional champ Payson, which had 330.5 points. DH also had a second-place finisher in Chance Bundy at 126.

Cedar placed third as a team, crowning an individual champ in Dallin Brooks at 160 and a second-place finisher in Jaxon Williamson at 170.
