ST. GEORGE – The Southern Utah community has come out in force to help a St. George couple who are currently living at SwitchPoint Community Resource Center in St. George with brand new identical triplets.

Devin and Khylie Saxton have been living at the homeless shelter for about a week with their 3-month-old identical triplets, Miles, McCoy and Mayhem, as well as 5-year-old Riley, Devin Saxton’s son from a previous relationship.

With money currently tight and three infants to take care of, the family is constantly in need of baby items, but foremost on their needs list has been a specialized stroller to accommodate the triplets.

Since the Saxtons’ story became public Thursday, Southern Utahns have opened their hearts to help this family. So many people have been stopping by SwitchPoint to drop off donations and offer help, in fact, that the Saxtons have amassed a collection of Post-it notes because the shelter workers don’t want to keep knocking on their door for fear of waking the babies.

“We end up with a lot of postie notes, messages, on the door,” Khylie Saxton said.

Many of those messages, she said, have been job leads for Devin, who recently lost his job and has been looking for work. Devin Saxton spent hours Saturday following up on the leads, she said.

Among donations of baby items community members have been dropping off at SwitchPoint for the Saxtons, one man anonymously donated a used multiples-stroller Friday – one better suited for when the triplets are older, Khylie Saxton said, but which they can definitely make do with for the time being – and a woman contacted the shelter Saturday to leave word that she’s ordering a brand new stroller for the family.

“They came and they told me today that a woman named Diane ordered one,” Khylie Saxton said Saturday.

There have also been developments in the Saxtons’ housing situation. A local man has offered to let the family live in a rental property he owns, free of charge, for six weeks while Devin searches for a job and while the family sorts out more permanent housing accommodations. The man took Devin out to dinner Friday night to talk about the arrangement and show him the rental, Khylie Saxton said. Devin Saxton is helping the man clean the rental, and the family plans to move in Monday.

“So that way we have somewhere a little more homey and easier to take care of the babies,” Khylie Saxton said.

After reading about the Saxtons and their triplets, many people have inquired whether the family has a GoFundMe account through which monetary contributions can be made. In response to those inquiries, the Saxtons set up a GoFundMe account Saturday where community members who would like to can donate money to help them purchase a new vehicle. Called the “Saxton Triplets Safe Vehicle Fund,” the page has been set with a goal of $10,000 to help the family replace their van, which has a broken window and mechanical problems.

Ed. note: Previously posted donation drive un-scheduled.

I love this community. Say what you will about it, the people here are incredibly generous and loving. My family and I have seen it firsthand, and now we see it again.
