CEDAR CITY —Wilhelm gypsy jazz ensemble will perform for the Cedar City Arts Council networking social Monday at 7 p.m. in the Heritage Center upstairs conference center in Cedar City. The social is open to the public and is geared to those who enjoy art, music and poetry.
Wilhelm performs jazz in the style of Stephane Grappelli. The group is led by violinist Heather Wilhelm with vocalist Olivia Sham. The band’s rhythm section includes Mason Cottam and Ryan Durfee; they have performed at numerous community events from the Home Show and Tour of Utah, to the art council’s Art Walk in Cedar City.

Artisan’s Gallery will be the featured arts organization at Monday’s social. Several of the artists who exhibit and sell their creations at the popular Cedar City gallery will exhibit their work.
“We have a wide selection of paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures, jewelry, metal work, stained glass and much more,” said Steve Yates, Gallery Director.
DaKishia Reid expresses herself through a variety of artistic endeavors including dance, painting, and spoken word poetry. She will present two poetic pieces the night of the social from her work exploring “the merging magic of personal experience and cultural stories laid out long before we arrived to the doorstep of our lives.” Reid’s work has been published in several magazines, and won recognition in North Carolina, Colorado, and New Mexico.
A selection of refreshments will be provided by Pastry Pub.
