(September 8, 1919 – January 19, 2015)
Marie Lund Garrick, 95, returned to her Heavenly Father, January 19, 2015, at the Southern Utah Home for Veterans in Ivins, Utah, surrounded by her family which adored her.
Marie was born September 8, 1919, in Plain City, Utah, to Anna Esther Christine Anderson and Willard Richard Lund. She married the love of her life, Donald Burningham Garrick on July 4, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George, Utah Temple.
Marie grew up on a small farm with her only sister, Arleen. She graduated from Weber High School in 1937. She often attended a reunion of schoolmates who had been together since the second grade. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission in the Eastern States. She held many callings throughout her life including organist, pianist, Primary President, Young Women’s leader and worked in the St. George Temple.
Don and Marie made their home in Salt Lake City then moved to Southern California where Don was a building contractor. They moved to St. George in 1963. Marie’s passion was music and was founder of the legendary trio “The Dixie Golden Girls.” They performed at countless funerals, weddings and celebrations of all kinds in Utah, Nevada and even Hawaii! They were part of Roene DiFiore’s Dixie College Program Bureau. She was always singing songs in her heart and tapping her toes.
Don and Marie enjoyed traveling and cruising the world, especially their many trips to Hawaii. They travelled with many friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald B. Garrick in 2012. She is survived by her sister, Arleeen Lund Garrick, (Whittier, California), and children Donald L. (Carlene) Garrick, Jan (Darrel) Stucki, and Julie (Jack) Heppler, all of St. George, Utah. She has 16 adoring grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services
- Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
- A visitation will be held Saturday, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
- Interment will be held at the St. George City Cemetery.
