MESQUITE, Nevada – Arizona Highway Patrol responded to a rollover accident on Interstate 15 Tuesday just north of Mesquite, Nevada, after a man driving a red Kia Sephia lost control of his vehicle and ended up on the side of the road.
“The best we can tell is that the red vehicle was southbound on Interstate 15 at milepost 1.5,” Arizona Highway Patrol Officer John Rogers said. “(He) initially lost control of the vehicle, went into the median, left and then overcorrected, went back right across the lanes of travel and ended up rolling in the soft dirt.”
The rollover is being investigated as a DUI incident, Rogers said, and the driver will be issued a citation.
The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and sustained minor cuts and bruises as a result of the accident. He was transported to Mesa View Regional Hospital in Mesquite with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Rogers said.
Arizona Highway Patrol, Beaver Dam-Littlefield Ambulance and Beaver Dam-Littlefield Fire Department responded to the accident.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
Ed. name spelling correction (Jan. 22): Rodgers corrected to Rogers.

geez….get it correct…..this accident happened in Arizona…..Mesquite is in Nevada….that’s the Spectrum for you
The story states “the accident happened just north of Mesquite” at Mile post 1.5 in Arizona. The exit to the casinos in Mesquite is about a 1/2 mile into Nevada from the border which makes the location of this accident about 1.5 miles from Nevada border or as the story states “just north of Mesquite”
I see the reporting as very correct. Thanks
FYI–the Utah/AZ border of I-15 is approx Mile post 29.
dang tweekers
Dang drunk drivers.
good story i know the officer in the story, he is my dad you spelled his last name wrong “rogers” 🙂
Our apologies to your dad, Abby. Sgt. Bottoms confirmed for me as well, and I’ve made the correction. Thank you!
