ST. GEORGE — Two vehicles were towed Sunday morning after a grey SUV allegedly ran a red light on Bluff Street and collided with another vehicle.

At approximately 11:22 a.m., a man, with three passengers, was driving a grey Dodge Journey northbound on Bluff Street as he neared 1470 South a white Mercedes SUV, driven by a woman with two passengers, exited Interstate 15 at Exit 6 and continued to make a left-hand turn, St. George Police Sgt. Dave Williams said.

A person in a nearby vehicle to the grey Dodge said that the light was green for the Mercedes, Williams said, which would have meant that the grey Dodge went through the red light and collided with the Mercedes in the intersection, he said.

“They hit almost like a T-bone but more like a lazy ‘L’ angle,” Williams said.

St. George Police officers, St. George Fire Department, and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.

Both vehicles were towed and portions of northbound and southbound traffic on Bluff Street were blocked for cleanup.

The passengers of the grey Dodge self-transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Williams said. No injuries were reported.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by responders on scene and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Why not run a red light? They are the only driver in town. Who needs red lights when you are the only person in St. George driving?

Were they wearing magic underwear that kept them safe from harm? Maybe they should wrap their cars in magic automobile underwear, the kind that prevents dents, dings and collisions.
