(November 27, 1915 – December 20, 2014)

Phyllis Ann Clarkson Hill passed away December 20, 2014, at the age of 99. She was born the elder of two daughters on November 27, 1915, in Hayden, Arizona, to Charles Robert and Ethel Breeden Clarkson. She married Floyd Gordon Hill December 5, 1936, in Thatcher, Arizona. After her marriage, she lived in Hayden, Arizona, and in Vallejo, Sonoma and Napa, California. She and her husband retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1971. Her husband passed away in 1991, and in 1995 she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to live with her daughter, Susan. In 1996, she moved with Susan’s family to LaVerkin.

Phyllis is survived by her children: Susan (Tom) Hurt of LaVerkin; Katy Bellinger of Phoenix, Arizona, Judith (Bill) Whitlow of St. George and Charles P. (Diane) Hill of Santa Clara; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Martha; and sister, Josephine DiPastena. She was a loving mother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Phyllis was known for her tireless genealogical work; she loved compiling information on her family on her computer, and she served for many years as a volunteer for rootsweb.com submitting records to the archives of many counties in the United States. She also spent several years doing genealogical extraction work. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout the years. Heartfelt thanks go to the hospice team, especially Jan, Ruth, Joni and Kathy.
