LEEDS — A Las Vegas man was arrested Wednesday after he was found in possession of multiple drugs during a traffic stop.
Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Tibbitts witnessed a vehicle traveling 50 mph down Main Street in Leeds in a 35 mph zone, Tibbitts wrote in his probable cause statement supporting the arrest.
Tibbitts initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as 26-year-old Larry Shoell, of Las Vegas, the statement said. After running Shoell’s information, it was discovered he had two no-bail warrants issued by the Utah County Justice Court.
According to court records, both warrants were issued after Shoell failed to appear to begin his jail sentence after being found guilty of driving under the influence and driving with an expired driver’s license.
Tibbitts placed Shoell under arrest and searched him.
“While searching (Shoell), I located a syringe that appeared to be used, in his right front pants pocket” Tibbitts said in the statement. “I also located a plastic bag containing a white crystal powder consistent with methamphetamine tucked in his waistband.”
During a search of Shoell’s vehicle, the deputy also found a metal container between the driver seat and center console containing a brown substance believed to be heroin wrapped in plastic, Tibbitts said in the statement. Another syringe containing the brown residue was also located in the passenger door storage compartment.
Shoell admitted to Tibbitts he had used methamphetamine and heroin that day, the statement said.
Shoell was booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility and charged with two third-degree felonies for possession of methamphetamine and heroin; two class B misdemeanors for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence; and one class C misdemeanor for speeding. Shoell’s bail stands at $12,248.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Im here to help.
Here’s a tip: obey traffic signs and laws when carrying drugs in your car. However, he would have been pulled over anyways for having Nevada plates and profiling him as a drug user. After profiling, they would have pulled him over a signal violation, 2 seconds required.
And even your car is in perfect running order, you obey all traffic laws, you have no drugs and are not drunk, just remember, NO DANCING!. Yo be in a heap ‘o trouble if ya get caught dancin’, boy! This heah, be Dixie, and we no want no dancin’!
All of these idiots stopped with drugs have minor violations that led to the stop. Tail light, not signaling, speeding, etc. I know if I were carrying drugs I’d sure make positive that I didn’t ever give cause to stop me.
Hey, they don’t call it Dope for nothing. Good job COP’s, keep up the good work.
Call the Furgeson police and have the person of whom made the first comment arrested for being stupid, ya don’t even have To profile them.

Drug transporters should be health freaks and deliver their drugs by jogging or riding bicycles
This guy is 26 years old?? He looks closer to 56 years old. Adding to Dan and Ladybugavenger’s comments, here’s a few free tips:
1) Clean yourself up. Don’t give the cops any reason to take a second look
at you. Dummy.
2) Don’t return to an area where you have warrants out for your arrest…and you have two. Dummy.
3) Don’t speed. Your appearance already drew the cops attention, and now you speed to give him cause to stop you. Dummy.
Now, you see how they gave you bail even though you have two no bail warrants against you? Maybe someone will make a mistake and release you. IF they do, go away and don’t return. Go on a mo mission. No one will think of looking for you there and it may do you some good.
Dang tweeker/junkie.
The meth and heroin have done wonders for his already alien like appearance.
