Just before 2 p.m., a red Chevrolet 1500 was traveling southbound on Dixie Drive when the driver of a red Ford Escape attempted to turn left in front of it. The red Chevrolet 1500 clipped the red Ford Escape, causing the red Ford Escape to spin into a third vehicle – a light colored Nissan Murano, St. George Police Officer Trevor Anderson said.

No injuries were reported at the scene of the accident, Anderson said. A citation was issued to the driver of the red Ford Escape for failure to yield on a left turn. All three vehicles had to be towed as a result of the collision.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.

I’d like to make a suggestion to St. George News. While I understand that readership translates into page hits and ad impressions pay the bills, could the staff possibly consider that so much reporting about traffic incidents may shed an imbalanced light on the true state of driving in St. George. Driving here isn’t really any more hazardous than anywhere else. But over-reporting of accidents may give that impression.

Oh sure, let’s just sweep it under the carpet along with other news that you don’t wish to recognize. That is the same attitude expressed by these drivers that totally scoff at driving rules and regulations, and then when they crash, will try to blame somebody or something else for it, because they are not adult enough to accept that they were the ones who screwed up.
I am so sick and tired of this attitude of not taking responsibility for one’s own mistakes and shortcomings.

I’m trying to figure out the correlation between the breast augmentation ads for the accident reports. You think the ads would be for dent repairs, not breast repairs.

drivers here a terrible go look up the actual statistics. St George has less than a quarter of the population of my hometown yet has double the amount of traffic accidents reported. You can look it all up on city data

Totally disagree with the comment from “THE REST OF THE STORY.” The St. George News does a great job of reporting accidents, hopefully making all of us aware of the need to be vigilant on the roads around here and drive defensively. Keep it up, please, St. George News.

I also disagree with.. TROTS articles that get attention like these do make people aware offer their surroundings these accidents happen in people’s neighborhood’s where they live. Where they’re children play. These accidents involve people’s family members and friends and coworkers and neighbors.

Why are there so many accidents lately??? Thanks to the st George news we hear and see about them as th spectrum doesn,t do news any justice..
People drive too fast, I see so many eating and driving while on the phone, them they don,t use blinkers, and go thru red lights all the time..
And then they say it was medications.. Can,t people read the bottle and don,t drive while taking this medication..and now I know people who lie on their drivers license and say they don,t take any medicines when they do.. Still think there should be driver testing after certain ages..

Out of all the ways there are in the world to get killed, you’re 100 times more likely to be killed in a motor vehicle accident than any other way. I think we should know about it. This guy with the Mr Koolaid pic is sure an angry little fellow isn’t he?

    • FreeParking December 8, 2014 at 2:32 pm
