ST. GEORGE – Police responded to a report of a fight at the Bout Time Pub & Grub on Sunset Boulevard in St. George Thursday night after two men allegedly traded heated words and flying fists.

At about 10 p.m., St. George Police officers were dispatched to a report of an assault outside the sports bar. (See ed. note)

“Two male acquaintances got into a verbal fight, and punches were thrown,” St. George Police Sgt. Dave Williams said.

During the fight, one of the men was either pushed or punched and ended up hitting his head on a table or other piece of furniture and cut his head. The individual began bleeding, though the injury wasn’t as serious as it appeared to be, Williams said.

The two men were “mutual combatants,” Williams said, as both parties were being aggressive during the incident. As a result, both were cited by police for disorderly conduct. Neither party wanted to press charges against the other for assault.

Patrons in the pub said the man with the bleeding head received medical treatment at the scene; however, no one was taken to the hospital via ambulance, Williams said.

St. George Police and St. George Fire responded to the scene.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Ed. note: Clarification made that the fight took place outside Bout Time.

Let’s put up more bars and have them put up a boxing ring in the back so they can discuss their differences like adults

Whatever happened to the guys at Dixie College who ganged up and beat another guy. Story was there were so many beating him up that they kept others from breaking up the beating. Was that a Dixie tradition.?

Nothing shows your point of view is right quite like physically attacking someone else. I do get how this is news though, lots of places the result would be serious hospital time or death.

A bar! OH NOOOOO!!!!!!! There goes the neighborhood. Seriously, get a life.

Funny how this was worded.. My friend was the person that got knocked out. While I tried to stop the whole thing. One punch was thrown at my friend because he didn’t want to shake the other guys hand. Then he hit the floor. My friend was not trying to fight whatsoever. He knows the other man and his lack of responsibility as a PARENT and simply wasn’t going to give him the respect to shake his hand.. My friend had no interest in fighting! As his fists were never raised!!! The other man was upset over the handshake and he rush my friend while he was backing up. Talk about a joke.

You mix people and booze and sooner or later Dixie shows its true colors one way or another

Okay to have a bar that has no parking, and cram 20,000 people in the Dixie Center for the Dickens festival, but can’t have a dance at Fiesta Fun.

Poor Utah!! Centuries of sexual relationship between siblings made the population mentally retarded. Step outside your boarder once in a while…

“Boarder?” Sucks to not know how to spell.
