Woman arrested after concealing drugs in bra

ST. GEORGE – A 23-year-old woman was arrested Monday after she was found in possession of drugs during a traffic stop at the Interstate 15 Exit 2 off-ramp.

The Washington County Drug Task Force confirmed the driver of a vehicle traveling northbound on I-15 was Cassandra Michele Clucas, of Central, who was wanted on an outstanding $25,000 cash-only warrant, task force Detective Jason Jarvie said in his probable cause statement supporting the arrest.

At the request of the drug task force, a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy pulled Clucas over. While speaking with Clucas, officers could clearly see a syringe sticking out of her bra, Jarvie said in the statement.

“The syringe was placed between her breasts and was clearly visible while speaking with her,” Jarvie said. “From my experience, it’s not a common location for someone to store a syringe.”

Clucas admitted to placing the syringe and a spoon in her bra while being pulled over, Jarvie said in the statement. She also admitted that the syringe and spoon were used to inject heroin into her body, he said.

Clucas removed the items from her bra at Jarvie’s request, the statement said, and denied several times that she had anything else on her person.

A drug task force K-9, Buster, was deployed on the vehicle and gave a positive indication regarding the presence of illegal narcotics, and a search warrant was subsequently issued.

During a search of the vehicle, several syringes filled with a dark liquid were found hidden in the lower portion of the front passenger seat.

Clucas was arrested and booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility. During her pre-booking search, she was found to have additional items concealed in her bra – suspected heroin and methamphetamine, Jarvie said.

Clucas was charged with four third-degree felonies for possession of drugs, possession of drugs within a correctional facility and obstruction of justice; and one class B misdemeanor for use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was initially set at $20,680.

Clucas made her first court appearance Tuesday and her bail was reduced to $5,000. She is scheduled to make her next court appearance on Dec. 8.

This was not Clucas’ first run-in with the law. She was convicted of drug possession in 2010 and theft of services in 2011, according to Utah court records. A conviction is still pending from another arrest on Nov. 5 for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

That crap has killed more people than I can count. She has more to live for as does anyone else. She needs to seek help and people need to offer. Being judgmental and crude about her mistakes will only hurt how she handles things emotionally and mentally. And flashing a stupid drug bust on the news is harsh, considering there are drug lords and distributors getting busted around here every single day. Why don’t I see their story on here? Every SG news reporter can be hasteful without thinking twice.

They’re not interested in busting major distributors because the republicans use the war on drugs as part of their war on the poor and working class…

Horse crap. She is the one who made the decision to become a dope fiend. She doesn’t need the enablement of bleeding hearts who want to “help” her. She will just take advantage of them.
Interesting that a judge finds her bail should be reduced, even though she has a pedigree and had a warrant for her. At least in jail she would get methadone. . .Which in itself is a narcotic.
Is this a great country, or what!

Not really concealed if the cop could see the “clearly visible” pipe
