When you say Hispanics, do you mean illegal or legal or both? Just wondering because is it safe for illegal Hispanics to voluntarily attend a police gathering?

I guess it’s true. We officially have an open border with Mexico…

All Hispanics. I don’t know why some people assume that all Hispanics here are illegal. If the Police Department had a better interaction with the Hispanic population in the area, there would be better communication and perhaps the Hispanic community would report more crimes and ask for help.

We are going to go to DANCE! , you know us Mexi-cans! ask the white girls that love it, if you are a good dancer, you are a good ?

That’s actually the whole goal of this event. It’s to encourage the Hispanic community (illegal or not) to report crime, and to help foster a better relationship between the police department and the Hispanic community.

The same people assume all hispanics are illegals, all blacks are gang bangers, all muslims are terrorists, all non-mormons are unwelcome outsiders, all Democrats are baby killers. It’s a very closed-minded pod community.

No..just a few are as you describe and if I were you I would look in the mirror.

  • ladybugavenger December 2, 2014 at 9:33 am

Well, call me cautios, but if I was an illegal Hispanic I would think this is a ploy for the police to get information on me and know my face then bust me later with fake documents.

I do not understand why it just has to be the hispanics invited. Now all the sudden the Latino community is special. This should be an event for the entire community. Not one singled out group. I remember back in the 80’s Ronald Reagan used to say the reason we have poverty, is because the people who need help do not know where to turn for the resources. Poverty comes in all races, just like not trusting police. The Latino community is not the only ones who do not report crimes. I have seen many Caucasians do the same thing. Many people know how the system is, because all families know someone with legal troubles. Police are not counselors they do their job and let the judge decide. Now you might find a good one now and then who really cares. With my experience that is very seldom. Good luck to the sgpd. We need better relations with out local police department as a whole community. One specific group should not be singled out. Especially with all of the police headlines making the news.

      Ya, I feel left out

      • Manuel labor December 2, 2014 at 3:07 pm

That is exactly why I am saying this. I do not want my fellow Caucasians to feel any sort of abandonment issues.LOL! Oh and get to work so you won’t feel left out when events like this happen!

        • ladybugavenger December 2, 2014 at 6:59 pm

Its my day off ( yawn). \_(*_*)_/

        • ladybugavenger December 2, 2014 at 8:58 pm

Luckily, I overcame my abandonment issues. Took me 10 years, buti did it. Man, you have no idea how deep those issues went in this white woman from America. \_(°°)_/

I am sympathetic towards your Past situation, really. All jokes aside, I am a really big fan of your posts they always put a smile on my face. Keep doing what you are doing it is great. Another thing, the only reason I said get to work is because of you comment on the standoff article. You were telling one guy to get to his P O and the other to get to work. LOL! Sorry. if I came off callious. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

          • ladybugavenger December 3, 2014 at 10:13 am

            Thanks Manuel Labor- Merry Christmas!

  • Manuel labor December 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm

Correction- we need better relations with the local police department as a whole community.

    • Koolaid December 2, 2014 at 2:59 pm

How about a dance party with them?

      • Manuel labor December 2, 2014 at 5:50 pm

What ever makes you happy. I heard the SGPD have a really competitive dance crew. They were really just trying to eliminate all the competition. Do not be mad if you lose in a dance off!

  • SunshineinUtah December 3, 2014 at 6:51 pm

its because I’m white isn’t it?

    • Manuel labor December 4, 2014 at 11:10 am

It is really because I am white too!
