2 taken to hospital after rollover on Minersville Highway

ENOCH – Two people were transported to Valley View Medical Center Friday night after a rollover on state Route 130, also known as Minersville Highway, in Enoch.

A small, blue four-door passenger car driven by a man with his minor child riding as passenger pulled out from Thoroughbred Drive onto Minersville Highway and smashed into the rear end of a southbound Toyota 4Runner, causing the 4Runner to roll over twice and land upside down in a ditch on the west side of the road, Enoch Police Sgt. Mike Berg said.

“We’re pretty lucky  it’s looking like it’s going to be only minor injuries,” Berg said Friday night.

The two men in the 4Runner were transported by Iron County Ambulance to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City and treated for minor to moderate injuries. None of the injuries were life-threatening, Berg said, but as of 9 p.m. Friday, X-ray results were still unavailable to determine the full extent of injuries.

Though the driver of the passenger car was considered to be at fault, there is currently an ongoing DUI investigation to determine if the driver of the 4Runner was under the influence at the time of the accident. As of Friday night, no arrests had been made or citations given.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

If he was DUI with child in the car, he deserves the same as the DUI cop who flipped the sheriff truck with his kids.
