LAVERKIN — One person was injured in a vehicle collision in LaVerkin Wednesday night when one of two speeding vehicles ran into another vehicle that was making a turn.
At approximately 10:31 p.m., the LaVerkin City Police Department and the Hurricane Fire Department responded to 437 S. State St. on reports of an accident, LaVerkin Police Chief Ben Lee said.
According to initial reports, two vehicles each driven by a man, were allegedly driving at high levels of speed northbound on State Street, Lee said. While the cars were both traveling at high speeds, he said, it is unknown whether they were actually racing.
“I don’t know whether it was specifically a race … or if they were just speeding down the street with each other,” Lee said.
One of the speeding vehicles struck another vehicle driven by a woman who was turning.
The woman driver was injured and was transported from the scene to Dixie Regional Medical Center. At the time of this publication, Lee said he did not know the extent of the woman’s injuries.
Though it is unknown whether the two cars were racing each other, Lee said, racing is not a regular occurrence in that area.
The two speeding drivers were each cited by police for exhibition of speed, a class B misdemeanor.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by responders on scene and may not contain the full scope of findings.

The poor girl who got hit is my sons friend. The car they totalled was my sons! If my son’s baby would have been in the car she would be dead, if the girl driving wouldn’t have had her seat belt on she probably would be dead! These two selfish boys can’t even imagine what damage they have caused! They only got a ticket!
What is even more sad, is that they probably don’t care how much damage and injury they have caused. Hope the young lady is doing OK.
It is interesting how seldom the individual(s) that cause these crashes are the ones killed or seriously injured. They just keep going on and hurting other people.
Thank you for caring:)she is ok very stiff, sore, and she has to pay cash up front to see a chiropractor. She has missed 2 days of work. Yes I know sadly, I can only hope they care about the dangers they caused. Not only is she suffering, my son has no car to get to work or to even get his baby around. Thankfully she wasn’t in the car she would have been dead where she sits the driver’s seat broke backwards, and the back window shattered in. The girl who was driving flipped back into the backseat where the back window shuddered on top of her. She is very lucky she has no cuts
I beg of you, don’t let her go to a chiropractor! They are NOT medical doctors. If she is having back issues, have her see her primary care doctor who can refer her for appropriate care. Then get her an attorney.
What is really sad is that you really think anybody cares what you think
reckless driving causing an accident should result in at least a suspension of license. These boys may have been worthy though so…
Fundraiser.? LOL
I think one is in order… if he is worthy…
Zonker B should just go and move somewhere out-of-state. If anyone knows ZonderB, please urge him to do so. Then he can at least move on from his own misery, and condemn more people who are just like him.
In order to merit a fundraiser, boys must first be worthy and good football players
I mean damages
Will blame be placed on the woman and not on the boys, especially if they are football players?
