ST. GEORGE – The holidays are approaching, bringing with them that annual lineup of family gatherings, goodies and gift-giving – and one other thing: the age-old problem of “How do you shop for a person who already has it all?”
“My parents are to the point where they have everything – they just want photos,” Stefanie Bevans, co-owner of Steamroller Copies, said.
One common solution to this holiday quandary is to give hard-to-shop-for grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors and coworkers a family photo in some incarnation. But Steamroller Copies of Southern Utah has taken that concept out of the frame and into the 21st century with a lineup of unique and creative photo gifts that will outshine every other present this holiday season.
“We offer our standard holiday product, which is the canvas, but we’ve added new, unique mediums to print on,” Bevans said.
In addition to various canvas options for portrait-esque photo printing, Steamroller Copies offers cutting-edge image printing on artistic mediums like wood and brushed metal, allowing gift-givers to turn their family snapshots into beautiful works of art.
“They can customize it all they want,” Bevans said.
When it comes to photo printing on wood, the natural curves and lines of the wood grain make the most attractive features of the image, according to information from the Steamroller Copies website. No white ink is used in wood printing, so any white or lighter colors present in a photo are replaced by the natural color of the wood piece, creating a unique and very eye-catching image.
This holiday season, Southern Utahns can think outside the box and have family photos superimposed onto a three-dimensional wooden alphabet letter, for instance, to represent a family initial. Or, spell out words like “family” and “love” in a 3-D photo display that will serve as a conversation piece for years to come.
Metal prints catch the light in a unique way that will leave your gift recipient breathless.
Images are printed on high-quality dibond aluminum for a stunning end product – available with either a white or a clear base. Metal prints are finished with a gloss ultraviolet coating to protect the image and give it a beautiful shine.
Metal prints can be created in various sizes, are very light, and can be set up for viewing on an easel or mounted on a wall with premium metal standoffs from Steamroller Copies.
Looking for additional creative options? How about refrigerator magnets for Grandma and Grandpa bearing photos of their grandchildren?
Steamroller Copies also creates custom calendars for those with many family images they’d like to give in gift form.
And, of course, Steamroller offers high-quality standard items like family holiday greeting cards and regular photo prints in various sizes to make attractive keepsakes for loved ones.
With all the cutting-edge technology available at Steamroller Copies, the sky is virtually the limit when it comes to photo gifts this holiday season. The many professional print associates at Steamroller Copies will work with customers one-on-one to create the perfect gifts; customers can also explore their options, upload photos and place orders on the Steamroller Copies website 24 hours a day.
“That allows our customers to feel like we’re never closed,” Bevans said.
Now through the end of December, Steamroller Copies is offering a 20 percent discount on all wood, metal and canvas items.
“It’s the only time of the year that we drop our prices that low,” Bevans said.
This holiday season, say goodbye to run-of-the-mill and create custom photo gifts that will leave a vivid impression for years to come!
Steamrolling the competition for 22 years and counting
When Josh Bevans, president and CEO of Steamroller Copies, was 19 years old, his mother, Gail Bevans, decided to open a copy shop in St. George that would focus on customer service above all else. More than two decades later, Josh Bevans and his wife, Stefanie Bevans, are at the helm of Steamroller Copies. Going strong with three Southern Utah locations – two in St. George and one in Hurricane – Steamroller Copies has introduced many firsts to the Southern Utah market.
“We love to be on that cutting edge and begin looking to the next innovative idea, innovative product,” Josh Bevans said.
Among those many firsts, Steamroller Copies was the first in Southern Utah to offer digital output printing, allowing customers to bring in disks and print files from their disks.
“At the time, it was like brain surgery,” Josh Bevans said.
Steamroller was also the first in Southern Utah to offer large-scale computer print separations, car wraps, fabric prints, UV flat-sheet printing, 16-foot-wide printing, environmentally friendly printing and dye-sublimation fabric printing. Steamroller was also the first – and still the only company in Southern Utah – to have a billboard-class printer.
“Honestly, billboards and vehicles – we were one of the first in the southern United States,” Josh Bevans said. “We were early-on for anybody, let alone Southern Utah.”
Design To Print, a companion business to Steamroller Copies, also operates on the cutting edge of the printing industry, handling large-scale jobs for such illustrious corporate clients as Coca-Cola, MTV, NBC and even the NBA.
“We want to keep getting faster and better at what we do so they will want to keep doing business with us,” Josh Bevans said.
