Gunfire incident leads to arrest of 2 juvenile suspects

MESQUITE, Nevada – Two teens were arrested in Mesquite Tuesday related to a gunfire incident that occurred on Nov. 7.

According to a news release from the Mesquite Police Department, officers responded to the area of Second South and Jensen Park after receiving a report of teen boys firing a gun from a moving car. Multiple shots were reportedly fired skyward from a handgun out of the back of the car. The suspects left the area before the police arrived and launched an investigation.

The investigation concluded on Tuesday and resulted in the location and arrests of two out-of-state juvenile boys. They were subsequently charged with obstructing a police officer and a weapons offense.

It is important that our message is clear, any reckless illegal behavior that places the public in danger will not be tolerated,” Mesquite Police Chief Troy Tanner said via the news release. “Our well trained hard working officers will continue working until the case is solved and those offenders are brought to justice.”

The offenders’ names were not released to the public due to their being juveniles.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Where are the parents to these teens?? How do these teens come in posession of firearms and then drive around in a vehicle shooting off guns, without the parents having any knowledge of what their children are up to??…….. maybe these patents should not let their children have so much unsupervised free time and more home time!

If they are old enough to fire weapons in public ,
They should NOT be shielded by juvenile laws .

If they can kill someone with a firearm ,
They should be ID’d & broadcast like every other thug .

Well Calibaby, I’m assume that by your name your from California, if this is so. You have asked a very dumb question. People driving around shooting guns in the air probably isn’t the smartest thing to do. But at least their not doing drive bys as you know they do in California. Parents can’t supervise their children all the time again referring to all the problems California has you I’m sure can appreciate that. But what parents can do is raise their children properly and teach them not to be stupid, just the opposite of the parents in California. What’s more dangerous to society teens shooting guns in the air from their cars or all the adult drunks drivers leaving those fine Nevada casinos. Oh ny the way who is responsible for watching the adults, ya that’s right the government. They can’t even watch them selves, I know let’s make laws to protect our selves. NA lets break the cycle of raising stupid children. And by the way Marry just because you thaught you were old enough to have sex in 7th grade doesn’t mean it was right for the boys to put your phone number on the bath room wall even though you gave the okay.

I bet these charges are eventually dropped because successful prosecution is doubtful. Lawyer up boys, don’t say a word.

If they were from Santa Clara, there would be an overwhelming support for these boys, perhaps fundraisers and bishop admonishment for anyone daring to say anything against them. Poor boys! The audacity!
